Much has been printed and broadcast recently about the plight of many West Indian immigrants who entered Britain legally between 1948 and 1971, as children, on their parent’s passports. They have now been dubbed the ‘Windrush Generation’ after the first ship to arrive in Britain carrying West Indian immigrants, the SS Empire Windrush.
We are led to believe that the arrival of these children was never documented and that as a result of that lack of documentation, they have grown up in Britain, gone through the education system, worked and raised families for decades and only now has it come to light that they have no documentation establishing British citizenship or ‘leave to remain’ here in Britain.
We are told that as a result of a Home Office crack-down on illegal immigrants, codenamed ‘Operation Vaken’, apparently initiated under Theresa May while she was Home Secretary and continued by current Home Secretary Amber Rudd, these hapless immigrants have been denied public services and state benefits, and in some cases have been prevented from working and are being pressured into going back to the Caribbean.
The Home Office is alleged to have no records for these immigrants. Some sources claim that old paper records were shredded some years ago and now the individual immigrants concerned are being challenged to produce documents of their own establishing their bona fides, and proving that they did indeed come to Britain as children and have as a consequence lived here legally ever since.
We are told that the Windrush Generation have great difficulty in doing this. It apparently didn’t occur to them or their parents to keep copies of the documents granting them indefinite leave to remain, granting them British citizenship, etcetera — something that should be regarded as rather remiss. It is rather like buying a house and not keeping any copies of the deeds or the land registry documents.
Apparently, in this politically correct, liberal-left society in which we live it is a great scandal that the Home Office should ask a class of people for whom they hold no records to establish their bona fides, and we have been treated to declarations of indignation from opposition spokespeople and other social justice warriors, and bumbling statements of abject apology from the government ministers responsible. So-much-so, that immigrants from the Windrush Generation, not just those from the West Indies arriving during the 1950s, but immigrants from wherever they have come, right up to 1971 are to be granted an amnesty and full citizenship rights, irrespective of whether they can demonstrate whether they entered this country legally or otherwise! Furthermore, there are calls by opposition politicians and others for those adversely impacted by this affair to be given compensation from the public purse.
There are calls for Home Secretary Amber Rudd to resign, for having the temerity to direct the Home Office to ask undocumented immigrants in this country to prove their bona fides, and Amber Rudd has now made statements to the House of Commons to the effect that while there were Home Office targets set for the numbers of assisted and enforced repatriations of undocumented/illegal immigrants, she didn’t know about them!
Clearly this whole story is preposterous!
Firstly, it is preposterous to suggest that during a decades long period of great public anxiety over mass immigration, the government would not document the arrival into Britain of thousands of immigrant children, unless of course this was deliberately omitted in a cynical ploy to prevent the public from knowing the true numbers of immigrants entering this country?
Secondly, it is preposterous that throughout the seven decades since the arrival of the SS Empire Windrush, that the undocumented status of those immigrants would not have been discovered much earlier, upon entering the school system, upon registering as a patient at a doctor’s surgery, upon taking up employment, upon applying for a driving licence or a passport, in fact, upon any encounter with the authorities, unless of course there had all along been a policy of never requiring undocumented immigrants to establish their bona fides?
It is preposterous that following several successive administrations who have contrived to facilitate mass immigration into this country against the wishes of the British public, and at a time when approaching half a million immigrants are entering this country each year, that a pro-immigrant, pro-multiracial, pro-multicultural, liberal/centre-left Conservative government such as we have today would have devised and staked its reputation on a petty scheme aimed at returning less than 15,000 long-term undocumented immigrants per year!
Lastly, it is preposterous unless there is some ulterior motive and planned purpose, that this issue should have come to a head to coincide with the 70th Anniversary of the first arrival of the SS Empire Windrush, the 50th Anniversary of the so called ‘Rivers of Blood Speech’ made by Enoch Powell and the 25th Anniversary of the murder of Black teenager, Stephen Lawrence, by sheer coincidence.
I suspect that while there may be up to 15,000 long-term undocumented immigrants who are legitimately the children of legal immigrants and who might reasonably have expected to have been granted British citizenship based upon their parents domicile, this whole affair has been contrived to provoke sympathy for immigrants generally and provide a pretext for the granting of an unconditional amnesty to the many tens (hundreds?) of thousands of historic illegal immigrants that entered Britain during the period up to 1971. Furthermore, I suspect it will also provide a convenient precedent for the granting of further amnesties when the numbers of children of more recent illegal immigrants become so large as to be no longer possible to conceal.

Whenever I applied for a passport or driving licence I needed lots of proof of identity. Surely those born in the UK received their National Insurance numbers? Right. Something stinks here and this is just another decoy by the left.

Whenever I here the Government of whatever party is in power at the time, come up with lame excuses like this, there is a quotation by Sir Walter Scott. We all know it and I think it could be used every time like this, “Oh what a tanggled web we weave when we practice to deceive”.
Of course it would never be out of use as most utterennes by the Government are lies.

If one reads the “Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion”, one needs never to ponder the “why”, concerning our current, almost unavoidable situation.

Recently both the Stephen Lawrence murder and the supposed tribulations of the “Windrush Children” have been given due prominence, to such an extent that we can reasonably surmise that these events are serving vested interests and are therefore politically expedient!
There is little rational justification why a murder which had been perpetrated 25 years previously should be given such prominence today, except as a means of castigating British society and condemning it for it supposedly being inherently intolerant and “Racist”
Regarding the “Windrush Children”, in addition to highlighting how badly they had been treated by the Establishment, the current situation allows “Progressives” to celebrate their undoubted invaluable contribution to our society and also how non-European immigration had benefited us all.In the coming weeks we will be reminded how dull life had been in Britain before mass non European immigration , but ever since the arrival of the Windrush generation we have been blessed with cultural enrichment, as a multicultural and multiracial society has emerged.Furthermore we will be reminded the debt we owe to immigration as our Transport system and NHS would cease functioning overnight without their invaluable services.
It is clear to see that every opportunity is taken to promote multiculturalism and thus justify mass immigration. No doubt we can look forward to further installments of this propaganda exercise with bated breaths!

The Media reports that this Government have created a hostile climate for immigrants?…500.000 immigrants enter this Country every year..I think not..all this is to get sympathy towards immigrants so as the increase Mass immigration to speed up the genocide of the indigenous people of England.
Carry on you English, with your obsession with Football, X Factor, Big Brother, Hollywood, while your Country is destroyed forever.

Add to the list of coincidences that this happens to be the year of feminism. 100 years of women [rightly] voting is being used to push hard-line feminism more than ever before, to the extent it evidently seeks to ostracise white men entirely.
I agree entirely that this Windrush case has been deliberately whipped up with the purpose of setting a precedent for all illegal immigrants. The faux outrage shouted by both politicians and journalists is a way of trying to direct the public’s mind on the issue.

An interesting spat has broken out between militant feminists and militant transvestites (who call the feminists “terfs” -trans exclusionary feminists), because the feminists don’t accept that the trannies are real women, and they -the feminists – are therefore “transphobic”. It might be daft but it’s also just as nasty as you would expect, with feathers flying between different groups of Corbynist communists. Happily this is one squabble we don’t have a fight in, we can just sit back and enjoy!

Also, not forgetting that it’s the year of Harry and Megan’s wedding, when to use the words of ex-UKIP leader Henry Bolton’s ex-girlfriend’s words: “The Royal Family will be tainted with negroe seed” as a result of this wedding.

It could be that a policy is badly implemented, so as to discredit it & get the exact opposite thing to happen.
The Conservatives talk tough on immigration or crime but frequently talk never becomes action, I think that is quite deliberate.

Good article Max. Your last paragraph particularly resonated with me because it is becoming ever clearer that the whole thing is being used by the “Open Borders” claque as a lever to break down the entire operation against illegal immigration. The Guardian, of course, is at the forefront of this wicked aim, ably seconded by the BBC.

If one has been employed and paying National Insurance you have proof of residence, same goes if you have been unemployed,
Now Britain has a Muslim Home Secretary who my nature of his background will be sympathetic to Mass Immigration,
And you can bet your life Sajid Javid will be the next Tory PM.
