The Tragedy of the Church of England

By Frederick Dixon:

“Its obscene” the vicar of Edmonton recently declared “oppressive, racist and wholly inappropriate to a multi-faith society in the 21st century”. What was the vicar railing against – the racist grooming of poor white girls by Moslem paedophile gangs, female genital mutilation, child pornography? No, none of these; the vicar’s ire was aroused by the beautiful hymn “I vow to thee my country” with its deeply patriotic interweaving of love for our country with love for the Kingdom of Heaven.

Alright, so the vicar is a caricature trendy cleric, an obnoxious lefty, but is there anything more here than a foetid bladder of wind? I think that there is; the sad thing is that such loathing of a hymn which celebrates England is not remarkable, we have come to expect such perversion of values from representatives of the modern establishment, although their hatred is rarely so outspoken. Also unremarkable, because not unexpected, is the complete absence of any word of condemnation from the Church of England.

That such sentiments can go unchecked within what is meant to be our national church may help to explain a steep decline, not only in church going, but in the numbers of those who admit to being members of the Church of England. Thirty years ago some 40% of people in England declared themselves “C of E”, today it is 20%. The former Archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Carey, has warned that Christianity in Britain faces “extinction within a generation”, but what he really means is that the Church of England is staring into the demographic abyss – other Churches, even the much battered Church of Rome, bolstered by immigration from eastern Europe, either hold steady or are even growing.

Carey blames the parlous state of the Church of England on its failure to engage with young people, and there may be something in this – the Sunday School movement, so influential before WW2 that individual parishes ran excursion trains to the seaside for their children, has been allowed to wither on the vine and is now at best moribund in most places. But that cannot be the whole story; the vicar of Edmonton’s offensive nonsense shows us that the Church has either rejected, or does not understand, the incomparable opportunity for evangelisation presented by its Englishness.

Churches, of course, do not exist to propound patriotism but to save souls, but to do so they must be acceptable to the people they are trying to reach (to “get alongside” in the jargon), and they can do that only by being part of the culture of their people. So a Church will always necessarily take on a national colouring. It is important to stress that this is not an optional extra for a Church, to take on a national colouring is both inevitable and necessary to the work of evangelisation. Sometimes this process goes so far that a Church becomes wholly identified with a particular nation – it is impossible to imagine anyone other than an Armenian being a member of the Armenian Church or a Maronite not being Lebanese. Sometimes a Church can serve as an instrument of national liberation as did the various Orthodox Churches of the Balkans under Ottoman rule; the Russian Orthodox Church kept Russia’s national identity flickering – but alive – through seven decades of the most gross oppression to now enjoy a surging revival; the Roman Catholic Church served a similar purpose in Ireland and Poland.

Contrast the condition of the Church of England. It has very much taken on the English national colouring which it played a major part in forming. It has in its hands the powerful evangelical tools of ancient and beautiful buildings, a glorious musical tradition, and expertise in providing sumptuous ceremonial for great state occasions, all of which have the potential to attract people into church in large numbers. All these things it owes to its Englishness, yet it is unable to shake off the conviction that it ought to be a world Church – “Catholic” in the real sense of that word – rather than being content to be God’s gift to the English and those of English ancestry overseas. Turning its back on its Englishness it finds itself in turn rejected by the English.

Is there yet hope for the Church of England? One of its greatest problems is that it is a slavish follower of the current social fashion, but with a time lag. It is still deep in the darkness of social liberalism just as elsewhere the first faint signs of dawn have been glimpsed. Even when it emerges it will find itself in an England where very many of those who should be the Church’s flock have little knowledge of Christianity or understanding of the point and purpose of a Church – there will be no great Christian revival because the seed bed is sterile, and that is in no small part due to the negligence and cowardice of the Church in failing to resist the destructive impact of social liberalism and the secularism which is its product.

There is though, and always will be for many people, a need for a spiritual outlet. Where and how will the English find theirs?

  1. As an Englishman, and one born in the 90s, I’ve always been fairly fascinated at the seemingly almost overnight rejection of Christianity by the English. It’s easy to look back 70-80 years ago and read of families still attending church en mass on a Sunday, but growing up today…well I can probably count the number of Christians I’ve met, excluding reverends or priests, on both hands without needing any more than that.

I’m not even exaggerating, I’ve met about three people off the top of my head, this is in my entire life so far, who can be said to have been devout Christians, everyone else has either been an atheist, an agnostic, or they call themselves a Christian but know zero about the religion itself apart from the bare basics.

Bring a Christian here, from my point of view, has mainly become something you assume yourself to be, at least when you’re young, because you are White and its seen as the religion White people follow, often it’s not even your choice, I’ve known Arabs who assumed every White person around them was a devout Christian, as so many more Arabs are legitimately devout Muslims, seemingly oblivious to the fact that almost 90% or more of those people were likely Christians in name but atheists in reality.

I was baptised, but back when I was born that was what parents did with their babies. It sounds almost bizarre typing it, but it’s not because they want their child to be baptised into the Christian religion, they just do it because it’s ‘the done thing’, religious belief has little to do with it really.

Anyway, back to my original point, yes, I find it amazing how Britain, as well as other European countries, changed from having populations of fairly practising Christians, at least populations who truly believed in God and heaven, and in a span of a few decades are the atheist capitals of the world.

There must be reasons why this happened?

    1. Yes, it’s the agenda of de-spiritualisation. Hand in hand with Cultural Marxism. Our roots are genetic, cultural and spiritual. Each one of those ties must be severed by our enemy. Our genetic root is severed through mass-immigration and the promotion of miscegenation. Our cultural root is severed through general depravity and mis-education. Our spiritual root is severed through an infiltration and corruption of Church teachings*.

*Some of us believe that Christianity’s very introduction into Europe – or Protestantism at least – was a corruption of our original and indigenous spirituality, a religion which suited us deeply.

Those of you who are spiritual and are sick of Christianity, I urge you: Come back to your ancestral religion – Paganism. Whether it be Germanic Heathenism or Celtic Paganism. See here: https://youtu.be/Y7DpQfZabv0

      1. Hear hear Steed!
I think the present decline, though pushed for by Jewish interests, may have been aided by our own gods and ancestors. A spiritual detoxification that may clear the path for a reawakening of our old religion.
All Europeans once shared a religion, each version was tailored to the peoples who followed it, but was fundamentally the same.
There was no sectarianism to exploit in a racially conscious Pagan Europe, as there was in Christian Europe or still is in the Islamic middle east. Our ancestors would sooner root out the sinister foreigner who seeks to benefit from it

        1. Europe was far more united under Christianity than Paganism, that is a very ill informed statement you make. There were a million and one different brands of Paganism and European tribes were still fighting each other under them. Every meaningful advancement Europeans have made has been under the Christian Church.

Jews attack Christianity because they do not want the European people to be spiritualised and awake. They do not attack Paganism because it is insignificant and, in fact, we have no real knowledge of the exact rituals and beliefs our ancestors had. Modern Pagan ceremonies are performed using silly manuals that have usually been written in the last 20 or so years.

We need to breed a generation of strong young men who understand the faith, the real solid convictions that are needed for this struggle. The WN youth are awakening to this reality. https://www.tradyouth.org/

          1. White people have repeatedly rallied around Christianity in the past in the hope of securing our racial salvation, but Christianity has been shown to be ineffective in that respect. If it were not so, we would not be in the mess we are in.
            .
You are right in that we need European people to be spiritualised and awake, but in order for that to happen we need a new religion, one that is based upon a racially oriented spirituality. Reverting to a fervent belief in a religion founded in primitive Jewish folk history will not do, I’m afraid.

          2. I suppose we will have to agree to disagree on this issue.

In my opinion a ‘new religion’ is building castles in the sky and frankly makes us look like cranks and puts up a completely unnecessary barrier between us and the British people.

Various ‘new religions’ have been attempted in the movement before and failed. The truth is that men in the movement need to start being real men, go to the Church, start living a better life for yourself and your people and stop following the Jewish media lies of ‘There’s no God, man.. Nothing that you cannot produce in front of you in an instance can possibly exist, there is nothing greater, nothing to aspire to, no duty to fulfil.’

I think much of the decline of Christianity in Britain can be put down to a modernist attitude to life where people want to be their own God. We live in a society where people do not like the idea of being subordinate to anything, its much easier and nicer to believe that there is nothing greater than you because it removes any responsibility from you, this is basically how most atheists view life.

We already have a religion which millions of our people follow and like every other aspect of white society, it has been taken over and subverted by the usual suspects. They put all of their efforts into attacking, demonising, lying about Christianity and regardless of whether you can believe or not, they view you as a ‘White Christian’. We need to reclaim or rebuild our Church just as we need to reclaim or rebuild our politics, our media, our Governance, and every aspect of our society.

“We will neither admit.. that an oligarchic and tyrannical people may install itself on the backs of the workers and literally skin them, while continually waving banners for Fatherland, which they do not love; God, in whom they do not believe; Church, into which they never enter and Army, which they send to war empty handed.” – Corneliu Codreanu

  2. It is interesting that the Privy Council and Parliament were ready to “sort this” if the CofE didn’t vote for female Bishops.

Sir Tony Baldry, who speaks on the church’s behalf in the House of Commons, told the York meeting: “If we haven’t got this sorted by 2015 then I cannot account for the law of unintended consequences at Westminster as to the creative ability of colleagues on both sides of the house of getting involved in this.

“I put it no further than this: a number of senior privy counsellors on both sides of the house are already putting their minds to how do they sort this if General Synod doesn’t.”

The synod, he said, needed to remember that it did not exist in a bubble: “The world is looking at us – and not least parliament.”

  3. It’s amazing that a hard core of the clergy fight tooth and nail against female bishops whilst ignoring the cultural destruction going on outside the church walls.

  4. Answer:

Don’t focus on Cosmotheism as it has no heart, Nor if you read decent Christian apologeticists does it have any reason to support it. As for whether it is a religion of the weak, we have nought but it to account for the last 2000 years of civilization. ‘Let him who has no sword sell his cloak and go out and buy one….For ours is not a religion of timidity but power’. Truly in your hearts you know that any materialist e.g genetic determinist creed is bankrupt and any future built upon Cosmotheism ( however logical) is ultimately bound to be a Dystopian one- and thus my brethren it’s why your heart confirms to you that every racist thought is a death knell of the soul. Let the fruit of their teachings be the proof of the pudding- or something to that effect….

    1. Cosmotheism may not strike a chord with you, dear Sir, but then we have no way of knowing what research into Cosmotheism you have undertaken so far. It would not appear that you have done much, nor would it appear that you have given much thought to the path along which our historic adherence to Christianity has taken us.
      .
” … we have nought but [Christianity] to account for the last 2000 years of civilisation”, you say, yet you fail to realise that while Europeans have made great technological and cultural advances during that time, Christians living in Asia Minor and North Africa have fared do better than the Semitic and Hamitic tribes among whom they have lived. The vital factor missing in those parts of the world was of course the White man’s genetic predisposition towards science, culture and the arts.
      .
Our dalliance with Christianity has been rather like a party that seemed to go rather well after a slow start, but which has now gone sour following the admission of unwelcome gate-crashers, and is threatening to end rather badly in our racial annihilation. Futures don’t come much more dystopian than that!
      .
Clearly a religion based around a cosmology that embraces and celebrates the White man’s unique qualities, would appear to be the most promising starting point for a resurgence of our kind, freed from the primitive superstitions and demonstrable absurdities of all three Semitic religions.

  5. My wife refers to our local vicar as Father Ted, the moment she said it, I could see the resemblance.
I last saw him walking about in a funny hat at the local village hall fete.
    God bless him.

  6. Dear Mr. Musson,

I agree with you! The monotheistic faiths have had a detrimental effect on our people! I think, in a mono-racial society, the egalitarian nature of Christianity works to our advantage, but it is negative when we are surrounded by people who don’t share our genotype….

Religion, first of all, has to be defined; and I will use my limited intellectual ability to elucidate what I think it is.

    Four concepts:

    1, Mythology
    2, Ethics
    3, Cosmology
    4, Spirituality

Of course, if religion is going to be used in a metapolitical struggle it would need to validate the survival of the White race. As explained, the universalism of Christianity is the antithesis of this ideal.

We have one advantage: what a racial religion teaches doesn’t have to be true. What matters with the hive-mind is group perception; not group understanding.

If a guru-type chose to dig into the rich depths of Western civilization he could develop a system of belief (a religion) and, using symbolism, teach it as the word of the gods, but you need a solid foundation to achieve this.

The problem is how monotheistic belief is ingrained in our culture through tradition. Most people wouldn’t listen, so, to create a White religion, you would have to teach it to children and their children and their children — they reckon a belief system becomes a tradition after three generations.

In the future, once the White race has secured its existence, something like a racial-religion might be possible, but I can’t see it taking off in the short term. Maybe I’m wrong. I don’t know.

  7. Marxist Multiculturalism began replacing Christianity decades ago as the state religion and to date have all but accomplished the feat.

Christianity could currently be considered unrecoverable. I agree there needs to be a new native belief system promoted to fill the spiritual void which the Cult of Islam is threatening to do forcibly with the assistance of both traitorous mainstream parties and White Marxist academics and journalists.

  8. Thanks Max for replying to me,
I’m slightly au fait with cosmotheism at least the Willliam Pierce variation on the theme.
However I think that medieval Christianity has a lot to recommend itself.
I’m talking about that synthesis of pagan and christian values that was exemplified by the code of Chivalry. Many right wing movements seem to concur with me.I think the myth of the twentieth century drew partially on Meister Eckharts thought. Codreanu’s Legionaries had Christianity at its core. The SS owed a debt at least in terms of dedication and organisation to the Jesuit structure. And of course one has only to look to the East to see how the Golden Dawn is thriving with Christianity at it’s core. Synthesis is the key, honey and iron.

  9. We shall no longer view it as Christianity as this has become weak and traitorous.

We are now believers in Christendom and the basis of our society will be Christendom just like the NSDAP used the Church.

The power of European Civilisation were not from flip flop Christianity but the forces of Christendom uniting against the non christian world.

In any battle religion gives strength and a feeling of greater purpose. While other followers are slaves to their religion we are free men, and free men are always superior to slaves.

The social policy of White Nationalism is just the same as that of Christian Civilisation as that is what what this country was not long ago. Adopting Christianity as the basis of what we want to achieve will give us validity.

We are the defenders of a scared land and people.

    1. That’s right Harry. Most of us do not believe in Jesus and the Christian God, we are ‘culturally Christian’, embodying a love of Christendom, rather than Christian by religious belief.
      .
We Europeans became great as a result of the evolutionary pressures that shaped us during the Ice Age; we were great still under the old Pagan religions; we remained great for two millennia in spite of Christianity rather than because of it; and we will be great again as long as we maintain our focus on our genetic inheritance, which is the source of our greatness.
