What Racial Group are Chechens?

The blatantly false description of now arrested Boston marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev as “white” on his FBI wanted poster during the recent manhunt for him, has raised two pertinent questions: (1) what racial group are Chechens exactly, and (2) how does the U.S. government define race?

To answer the first question: Chechens are in the present day a mixed-racial population. The location of their region, at the crossroads of east and west, has meant that various racial groups have passed through—and left their genetic traces—the country at different stages in history.

In ancient times, the region appears to have been first populated by the oldest European racial types (called “Mediterraneans” today) and then by Indo-Europeans. However, these European racial groups were then devastated by a series of non-European invaders.

The north of the country was held by the European Circassians while the Asiatic Avars invaded from the east, and a number of other smaller Turkic invaders penetrated the region, especially during the ear of the great Muslim invasions of the Middle East.

The most dramatic non-European invasion was that of the Mogols in the 13th Century. This had a devastating impact on the region which was repeated once again the next century under the Asiatic-Turkic invader Tamerlane. (It is no coincidence that one of the Boston bombers, suspect 1, was named Tamerlane, as it became a widely-used name in Chechnya since the 14th century.

After that period, Chechnya fell under the influence of the mixed-race Ottoman Turkish empire, particularly in a series of wars against the Russian Tsars who were expanding southward. After the Russians finally conquered the region, it was incorporated into greater Russia and then into the Soviet Union, a move which brought a fresh input of genes from European Russia.

As is to be expected from this historical mélange, the DNA of present day Chechnya reflects the wide diversity of racial origins.

According to the most recent survey of Chechen genetics, “Parallel Evolution of Genes and Languages in the Caucasus Region,” (Oleg Balanovsky et al., Molecular Biology and Evolution 2011),  56.7% of male Chechens display the  Haplogroup J2, which is associated with the Semitic populations today found in Israel, much of the Middle East and southern Italy.

Other male haplogroups found in Chechnya include the Semitic J1, the European L (7%); the Middle Eastern and non-Semitic G2 (5.5%); the northern European R1a (3.9%), the Asiatic Q-M242 (3%) and the western European R1b-M269 (1.8%).

On the female side of Chechen DNA, as is also to be expected, there is a much close correlation to European DNA. This is because invading armies are almost always male, and the female population of a conquered territory almost always survives an invasion—at least for one generation—and are taken up as wives by the male newcomers.

Overall then, it is safe to say that although there is a small European element present in Chechnya, the region is largely of mixed race, with an accent on a Middle Eastern and Semitic input.

Why then, leading on to question two, did the FBI announce that “Suspect 2” was “white,” especially when his picture clearly shows that he is not?

The answer lies in the pathetic—to say the least—racial categorizations used by the US government in all official census returns.

According to the official guide, the US Census uses the following categories of racial definitions:

“American India/Native Alaskan;

Asian;

Black/African American;

Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander;

White (divided into non-Hispanic white and Hispanic white); and

Two or more race.”

White is officially classified as “Caucasians from any part of the world (including the Middle East) that do not identify with any of the other racial groups.”

In addition, the U.S. Census Bureau does not classify Muslims or Arabs as racial categories” saying these are “ethnic and religious categories.”

In these “definitions” lies the answer to question two: in a nutshell, the racial definitions used the US government are unscientific and bear no relation to racial realities.

This has, of course, important ramifications beyond the misclassification of a Chechen bomber in Boston.

It means that white population figures in the US (according to the 2010 census) are greater than what they actually are, due to the inclusion of who knows how many people such as Dzhokhar Tsarnaev as “whites.”

Secondly, it artificially inflates the official US crime figures for “whites” by including Hispanics and Middle Eastern crime rates among European Americans, making them out to be far more criminally inclined than the reality.

  1. Unfortunately, apart from the mans nose on the left, both these two could pass for as heritage-questionable, swarthy Southern European. Obviously most S. European are not swarthy may I add.

    They could also claim to be of Jewish, middle eastern, and purer Arab tribes.

    I’ve even seen Russians; non Muslim, apparently ‘Slavs’ looking similar to this. It’s clear parts of Russia has ‘ethnic’ Russians who actually aren’t ethnically Slavic.

    You can usually tell with many people of the Caucasus, they are a clear white-mongoloid mix with dashes of Semite.

    These two for ease of identification should be classified as ‘swarthy Caucasian’ but certainly not White!

    Perhaps we need to begin to use a new term to describe our people. One which is exclusive and doesnt allow for people with similar skin tone but different ethnic facial/bodily structure to be clumped in with us.

    Aryan, European, Europid… ???

  2. Yes I have come across much the same with their crime statistics, the way they fudge who is white in ways that serve the anti white agenda.
    The whole Zimmerman thing when he shot Trayvon Martin was that he was white.
    So this whole Boston incident seems now to be both a domestic & a moslem type terror incident, though as Chechens, their beef is with Russia but maybe they decided to join in with the whole jihad & America as the great Satan type nonsense.
    I see that Newsnight did mention that “Inspire” magazine as a possible guide to how the bombs in Boston were made.
    The also mentioned the “Anarchists cook book” too!

    1. One of the bombs looked like it went off near a Russian flag, though there were a lot of flags there.
      So there could be a symbolic element there.
      Some of the fotos of the incident look odd, badly injured people awake with no bleeding or signs of pain.
      Could be easily faked but by who for what purpose?

  3. They are clearly Caucasoid, and in the truest sense of the term since Chechnya is in the Caucasus. They are not Indo-European as the Chechen language belongs to a Caucasian language family which, it has been suggested, may be very distantly related to ancient European languages of which Basque is the sole survivor.

    Are they white? Well, maybe, if Kurds are white, or Afghans,Turks or Berbers. In other words they are not white in the sense in which most Europeans use the word – as a synonym for “European”. Because of the potential for confusion of precisely this type, it might be better if the word “white” were not used at all to denote a racial type and “European” used instead. A new word would then be needed for non-European caucasoids – in fact there already are several such words and they are not at all new, but nor are they very polite!

    I suspect that much of this is cultural. Armenians are a people of the Caucasus who look very like this pair, but because they are Christians and speak an Indo-European language, they are usually considered to be white even by Europeans. I’ve no doubt that Greeks would feel that they had far more in common with Melkites (Arabic speaking Greek Orthodox) than with Norwegian Lutherans, yet to us Brits both Greeks and Norwegians are white but the Melkites are not. There are no easy answers.

    1. Your comments about the Armenians could also be applied to the Ossetians of southern Russia and north Georgia – their language is a member of the Iranian languages (few people would consider the Iranian to be “European”) but of course the Iranian languages are Indo-European, and the majority of them are Orthodox Christian with a Muslim minority.

      It does seem we should take culture into account as well as race, but classifications are not always straightforward, and as you say there are no easy answers.

    2. Armenians aren’t considered white, when they’re darker than even Turks and turks aren’t considered white. They’re just ‘armenians’. Greeks heavy heavy ME ancestry as do southern italians/albanians from the neolithic. They cluster intermediately between the central european cluster and the near east, they’re like ashkenazis. Borderline white themselves. Obviously, you can’t say that all greeks are white. Cypriots are brown, definitely not white.
      .
      Caucasians like Chechens,Armenians, Azeris, Georgians, etc. are not white. They’re called ‘black asses’ in eastern europe. They’re actually genetically closer to iranians than they are to europeans. Keep in mind that Chechens are the lightest caucasians, if they aren’t white, then none of the others can possibly be as well. It would be impossible to physically distinguish them for being less white in the real world

  4. I think semitic would be a legitimate racial classification. It would cover most of the middle eastern / arab populations. It seems they want the existance of the semite to vanish from the public consiousness. Wonder why?

    1. The zionist elements seem to want to claim “Semite” for themselves by their overuse of the phrase “Anti Semitism” to try & dampen criticism of what they’re doing.
      The irony is that most of the people screaming that phrase are not Semitic in any way that I can see.

  5. …and the history books they teach us with in the USA say that ‘EUROPEANS ARE THE INVADERS, THE SLAVERS’when in fact the EUROPEANS HAVE HAD MUCH HARM DONE TO THEM BY NON WHITES! THE GENOCIDE IS ONGOING! STAND UP AND FIGHT WHILE THERE ARE STILL SOME OF YOU LEFT ON THIS EARTH!

    1. Very true. For example, it’s interesting how often we hear of the Crusades, but the ceaseless Muslim invasions of Europe, from the destruction of Visigothic Spain by the Arabs and Berbers, to the siege of and conquest Constantinople by the Turks right through to the sieges of Vienna again by the Turks never seem to get a mention…
