The row over the “wealthy metropolitan elite” who use immigrants for cheap labour has had one interesting side-effect – it has exposed the racism of our rulers.
The affair blew up when a hapless Tory MP called James Brokenshire tried to curry favour with his bosses by criticising the wealthy for hiring poor foreigners.
In short order it was revealed that the Prime Minister and his wife had arranged UK citizenship for their Nepalese nanny.
Then it came out that Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg employed a Belgian cleaner and Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Danny Alexander, had a Portuguese cleaner.
Even Brokenshire’s own boss, Home Secretary, Theresa May employed a cleaner who was Portuguese.
Just to round it off it turned out that Brokenshire’s own predecessor Mark Harper had to resign as immigration minister when it was revealed that his Colombian cleaner was here illegally.
In a sane society there would have to be resignations from these bombshell revelations but not in Britain in 2013. The affair has simply been a damp squib – there are too many at the top who are implicated.
But one interesting aspect of all this is conspicuously unmentioned – Colombian, Portuguese, Brazilian, Belgian…. Can you not notice who is missing? Where are all the blacks?
None of these servants are black despite black people, whether British or not, being one of the biggest demographics in the capital. What gives?
Why does Samantha Cameron not show a good example by employing a Nigerian nanny? Why does Nick Clegg’s globalisation loving posh wife not make a gesture towards the third world by hiring someone from the Congo to do the cleaning?
Why is the biggest racial group in London absent from the roll call of cheap labour?
The answer has long been whispered around Metropolitan political circles and an unedifying and hypocritical one it is too. The reason is that the wives and mothers of our political elite, Tory, Lib-Dem and Labour alike, will not have blacks anywhere near their homes.
They would as soon as employ blacks in their homes as they would send their children to schools with average working-class blacks. That is the reason.
According to these Labour and Tory matrons – runs the appalling innuendo – blacks are so distrustful and dysfunctional that their little treasures cannot be exposed in this way. And neither can their own households.
Thankfully there is one notable exception to this disgraceful racism. Step forward and take a bow senior immigration Judge Richard McKee. He had to resign in disgrace this month after it emerged that he was housing an illegal immigrant from Nigeria.
Umar assaulted two police constables when she was arrested at the home she shared with Mr McKee in Kilburn, North London, in February.The 65 year old judge stepped down after reportedly admitting that he was giving “financial support” to Fatima Umar, a 39-year-old Nigerian woman who had overstayed her UK visa.
She is now serving two eight-week jail terms for the twin assault and for causing nearly £5,000 damage at Mr McKee’s flat. It appears that McKee might have been employing her in some unspecified capacity and then they moved on to a more informal arrangement.
Anyway, congratulations to Mr McKee for employing a black person!

Surely you are not serious?
Where are all the blacks? Have you looked in the prisons, the riots? the gangs? They are 10% of the prison population, while 2% of the population.
I can understand Clegg’s, Cameron’s, Brokenshire’s and Harper’s employment preferences.
If Mr McKee wants to hire black women in such an unspecified capacity, can he not take his holidays in Nigeria? Better yet, stay there.

Correction. The latest Human Rights Commission report (2010), states that 15% of the UK’s prison population is black,

The rich stay rich by employing cheap labour, they probably think they’re doing their bit for diversity & multiculturalism.
A survey for the Conservatives says that immigration has no effect on employment opportunities of British citizens but that seems complete nonsense in my experience.
They also say that the middle class have gained from these immigrants but I don’t see how, maybe better choice in curry houses & nail bars?
But their children are already finding it harder to get a job.

I saw the other day that 5% are gypsies. Makes you wonder what proportion are ordinary white Brits. We’re 80% of the country’s population but I doubt if we’re even 50% of those in prison.

I guess that is final proof: the statement that immigration is necessary because the British are too lazy. The liberals say crime is not about race and all races do crime. The prison statistics show that the British are too lazy to steal! Ha ha.
