As part of the on-going “debate” in America over gun violence, the Atlantic Monthly journal has compiled a breakdown of major American cities and the rates of gun violence—compared to the “deadliest nations in the world.”
“While the United States has the highest level of gun ownership per capita in the world, its rate of gun homicides, about three per 100,000 people, is far lower than that of Honduras, the country with the world’s highest gun homicide rate (roughly 68 gun murders per 100,000 people). But America’s homicide rate varies significantly by city and metro area,” the article states.
The map above compares the rate of gun murders in American cities to nations around the world. The pattern is staggering. A number of U.S. cities have gun homicide rates in line with the most deadly nations in the world.
* If it were a country, New Orleans (with a rate 62.1 gun murders per 100,000 people) would rank second in the world.
* Detroit’s gun homicide rate (35.9) is just a bit less than El Salvador (39.9).
* Baltimore’s rate (29.7) is not too far off that of Guatemala (34.8).
* Gun murder in Newark (25.4) and Miami (23.7) is comparable to Colombia (27.1).
* Washington D.C. (19) has a higher rate of gun homicide than Brazil (18.1).
* Atlanta’s rate (17.2) is about the same as South Africa (17).
* Cleveland (17.4) has a higher rate than the Dominican Republic (16.3).
* Gun murder in Buffalo (16.5) is similar to Panama (16.2).
* Houston’s rate (12.9) is slightly higher than Ecuador’s (12.7).
* Gun homicide in Chicago (11.6) is similar to Guyana (11.5).
* Phoenix’s rate (10.6) is slightly higher than Mexico (10).
* Los Angeles (9.2) is comparable to the Philippines (8.9).
* Boston rate (6.2) is higher than Nicaragua (5.9).
* New York, where gun murders have declined to just four per 100,000, is still higher than Argentina (3).
* Even the cities with the lowest homicide rates by American standards, like San Jose and Austin, compare to Albania and Cambodia respectively.
“Yes, it’s true we are comparing American cities to nations. But most of these countries here have relatively small populations, in many cases comparable to large U.S. metros.
“The sad reality is that many American cities have rates of gun homicides comparable to the some of the most violent nations in the world,” the article moans on.
However, the reality is that all of these American cities are no longer filled with traditional original Americans; they are filled with black and Hispanic people.
According to 2010 US Census information:
* Baltimore is 63% black, 28% white
* Detroit is 82% black, 7% white
* Atlanta is 54% black, 36% white
* Cleveland is 53% black, 33% white
* Sand Diego is 5% black, 48% white
* Portland is 6% black, 72% white
* New Orleans is 60% black, 30% white
* Newark is 52% black and 11% white
* Philadelphia is 44% black and 37% white
* Memphis is 63% black and 27% white
* Birmingham is 73% black and 21% white
Now, are there any trends one can spot here?

Don’t let non whites have guns?
It used to be said that where guns were concerned that a white person who owned them legally was likely to be in the top 10% of most law abiding citizens, whereas blacks tended to own them illegally & were in the bottom 10% of most law breaking citizens.
Outside of US cities crime tends to be a lot lower, the population more white & gun owning.
Notice how the latest anti gun ownership drive is conflating a lot of things together in an attempt to disarm civilians.
Some liberals say only the police & military should have guns but given the mistakes they make, are civilians any worse?

The other point I’d make is, what is the role big pharma plays in acts of violence & suicide?
Also a lot of questions have been raised over the official versions of Sandy Hook & the Batman shootings.
Will the atrocities mount until disarmament is forced upon civilians by supposed popular will?
Is the real agenda total control of the civilian population & squashing of opposition to government plans or is it crime prevention?
Did the pistol ban here cut gun crime, it doesn’t look like it.

Anyhow more on the same theme…

Apparently parts of Detroit are reverting to farmland or at least allotments, the industrial bit gone.
The main station appears in the film Powaqqatsi as a majestic ruin looking like something the Romans left behind, a lost civilisation overrun by the barbarians.
But as RamzPaul says it’s an African city now, defined by its genetic makeup & its culture & its infrastructure.

The African/Caribbean community in London is massively over represented in violent crime i have kept an old article from the Telegraph June 2010 regarding this problem, for gun crimes muggings and assault 67% are black the remaining 33% are mainly east Europeans, i dont know what the up to date figures are though we all know which way the trend is going, one commentator on this was quite amusing in a sense! Richard Garside, of the centre for crime and justice studies at Kings College London, said. “Given Britain’s long history of racism and imperialism it should not greatly surprise us that black and minority ethnic groups are disproportionately members of social classes that have tended to experience greater victimisation and be subject to police attention. Is it not reasonable to conclude that black people attract police attention because they are responsible for most of the crime, Black people are the adolescent ethnic group and no amount of frankfurt school social engineering will change that. How politically correct is that.

I think other people do it so much better!

I think you can look at Africa at areas where it’s been black for millennia & then look at where blacks have taken over somewhere & what do you see?
Chaos & disorder, no sign of them building anything of their own free will, they didn’t build the pyramids unless it was under the direction of someone else.
I’ll let them claim the credit for rap music & the like.
They can have that one.
