Black Good, White Bad

It wouldn’t surprise me to find the words “Black Good, White Bad” heading an article about the Labour party’s “Race and Faith” manifesto for this forthcoming election. Not when the Labour party is headed by a known Anglophobe who befriended the IRA when it was murdering hundreds of his fellow countrymen. It is, though, a great pity that the launch of this manifesto last Tuesday should have been so overshadowed by the storm about Labour’s alleged antisemitism; I rather suspect that the electorate’s interest in antisemitism is limited, but interest in the Race and Faith agenda would have been widespread and not, I suspect, to Labour’s advantage in many parts of the country.

The manifesto promises an “Emancipation Educational Trust” to teach our children about the “historical injustice of colonialism, the unbelievable levels of violence inflicted by the British Empire, the manner in which slavery interrupted a ‘rich and powerful Black history'”. Also included will be our old friends racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism (a tricky one that, I would have thought) and the “benefits of migration.” This new curriculum is to be taught throughout the year and not confined to Black History Month – so in practice we are to have a Black History Year, all year, every year.

So all very balanced and unbiased. Will the study of slavery focus only on the role of Britain, or will it be studied in its much wider and older context? Will the enormous sacrifice of British lives and treasure in the suppression of the slave trade be emphasised? I think I know the answer to both questions.

And there is to be an independent inquiry into “far right extremism”.

Needless to say, my view on all of these things is at the opposite extreme from Mr. Corbyn’s. In particular I’ve always regarded the British Empire as rather a good thing, opening up new homelands for our people in North America and Australasia while bringing the benefits of civilization to benighted savages elsewhere. But I’m not the leader of a great party of state who might very well find himself in 10 Downing Street on Friday the 13th December – so my extreme views don’t matter, but Mr. Corbyn’s views matter very much indeed.

The adoption of this proposal, and the adoption of an almost equally extreme open doors immigration policy (which Migration Watch has said would “destroy our nation”) show that the Labour party, under its present wretched leadership, has more or less abandoned the White working class whose interests it was set up to advance. In place of that demographic, Labour relies increasingly on the ethnic minorities who are flattered and pandered to by this proposal, and on masochistic and deracinated middle class Whites.

But the real wickedness – and I do not use that word lightly — of this proposal is that its lies and distortions seek to poison the wells of our national identity by causing our children to be ashamed of their forebears, and thus to be ashamed of their Whiteness and their Britishness. The effect on their self-esteem can probably be imagined. At the same time the self-esteem and sense of moral superiority of Black and Asian children will be boosted, and resentment of Whites and of Britain instilled.

But there is a silver lining in all of this. They are frightened of us. Why else have an inquiry into “far right extremism”?  (Yes, I know we’re not extreme, but they think we are!). And there are straws in the wind suggesting that racialism is indeed on the rise, particularly among a subset of patriotic young dissidents from mainstream groupthink. If Corbyn ever finds himself in a position to implement his appalling designs — and we must hope he never does — that dissidence will hopefully double and redouble!
