By Max Musson: In an Athens court early yesterday morning, after overnight testimony that lasted for more than six hours, Nikos Michaloliakos the leader of Greek nationalist party Golden Dawn, was jailed pending trial on charges of running a criminal organisation. This follows the wave of arrests carried out by the Greek government last Saturday, which saw Mr Michaloliakos and five other Golden Dawn MPs among twenty people arrested, ostensibly following the fatal stabbing of singer…

By H. Millard: “Look, man, a lot flows from the basic principle in Arman’s Teachings about what we call Code A. And, understanding what he teaches about Code A helps us sort out lots of things about morals and values and how we should live our lives. “Now, I follow Arman’s Teachings as best I can. Others can as well, but they’re not forced on anyone. In fact, we believe that one must come easily…

By Max Musson: Some people may feel that it is an act of consummate vanity and conceit that I am writing in all seriousness of our rise to power, for our Movement of National Salvation is as yet still a very small organisation and the acquisition of political power must seem for many a fanciful dream. Indeed when I am criticised by others outside of our organisation, usually leaders of the micro-parties and other micro-organisations…

By Frederick Dixon: We’ve all seen that photo of the “white widow”, head tightly wrapped in a light blue/grey niqab which serves to emphasise her big blue eyes, eyes further enhanced by a light application of eye shadow as her mouth is improved by a little lipstick. I don’t know whether or not Islam approves of cosmetics, nor do I know whether or not Ms Lewthwaite had anything to do with the recent atrocity in…

By Max Musson: Paradise Island is the home of a relatively small community of 10,000 people, and the people of this island are famous for their production of high quality widgets, which they sell as components to larger manufacturing client companies on the mainland. The population of Paradise Island has been changing in recent years however. The widget business has been depressed for some time – competition for contracts on the mainland has been fierce…

By Kasredin: If the anti-British national press is to be believed, the Labour Party leader Ed Miliband is promising to drag us all back to the 1970s, and the days of Wilson and Callaghan.  We are expected to dislike him, and to compare him with the cheese-loving inventor Wallace in the animated films by Nick Park, but let us consider some hard facts. Under the ConDem coalition government, Britain has a deficit of £120billion.  Instead…

By Heordredenn: Ethnic minorities in Scotland have doubled as a percentage of the population in just ten years, according to official 2011 Census results published on 26th September. According to the 2001 Census, ethnic minorities made up 2% of the Scots population. By the 2011 one, this had doubled to 4%. Three-quarters of these minorities were ethnic Asians, who now make up 3% of the inhabitants of Scotland. The remainder include Negroids of various origins.…

By Kasredin: In order to understand how banks work, it helps if we go back in time and explain how banks first came into existence.  The topic of inflation is linked to the development of banks. As a teenager I studied the Elizabethan era in history lessons at school, and I remember reading that prices rose sharply during this period of English history.   I wondered why this happened, but my history textbook did not explain.…

By Heordreedenn: There is a thought experiment – at least I hope it’s a thought experiment – concerning the best way to boil a frog. Apparently if you just chuck the hapless amphibian into a pan of boiling water it realises immediately that all is not well and jumps out at once. But if you put it in a pan of cold water, and heat it slowly, it never notices what is happening, or at least if…

By Frederick Dixon: The other day my son was watching one of those American cartoon shows – I don’t know whether it was “American Dad” or “Family Guy”, and it doesn’t matter. I was in the room, but reading and not paying attention until the words “you don’t want your daughter marrying a black man” made me prick up my ears. On the screen were three white people in a car – the elderly grey…
