Liberals have one astonishing ability: to give the symptoms of a problem, and always avoid naming the cause, even though it is obvious from the very same facts that they review.
Ultra-leftist German news magazine Der Spiegel is no exception to this rule. When it is not full of “neo-Nazis in the security police” stories, it carries equally hysterical and false propaganda masquerading as “feature” articles.
The latest issue of this magazine, cover title “The American Patient: Notes on the Decline of a Great Nation” has all the facts—yet refuses to draw the obvious conclusion.
According to Der Spiegel, the splendour of the museums and statues of the National Mall in the centre of Washington D.C, is “an open-air museum for an America that, in 2012, is mostly a pleasant memory.
“After a brilliant century and a terrible decade, the United States, in this important election year, has reached a point in its history when the obvious can no longer be denied: The reality of life in America so greatly contradicts the claim — albeit one that has always been exaggerated — to be the “greatest nation on earth,” that even the most ardent patriots must be overcome with doubt.”
The first example, Der Spiegel’s scribblers make is the total lack of preparation for the impact of Hurricane Sandy—mainly because the infrastructure is too run down to cope properly any more.
“The infrastructure in New York, New Jersey and New England was already in trouble long before the storm made landfall near Atlantic City. The power lines in Brooklyn and Queens, on Long Island and in New Jersey, in one of the world’s largest metropolitan areas, are not underground, but are still installed along a fragile and confusing above-ground network supported by utility poles, the way they are in developing countries,” Der Spiegel said.
“In the case of Sandy, the weather forecasts were relatively reliable three or four days prior to its arrival, so that the time could have been used to at least make improvised preparations, which did not happen. The only effective walls of sandbags that were built in the city on a larger scale did not appear around power plants, hospitals or tunnel entrances, but around the skyscraper of the prescient investment bank Goldman Sachs,” the article continued, revealing something that they probably did not intend.
“Large parts of America’s biggest city and millions of people along the East Coast could now be forced to survive for days, possibly even weeks, without electricity, water and heat. Many of the backup generators intended for such emergencies didn’t work, so that large hospitals had to be evacuated.
“Americans themselves are joining the chorus of those declaring the country’s decline. ‘I had to catch a train in Washington last week,’ New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, whose columns are read worldwide, wrote last April. ‘The paved street in the traffic circle around Union Station was in such poor condition that I felt as though I was on a roller coaster. I traveled on the Amtrak Acela, our sorry excuse for a fast train, on which I had so many dropped calls on my cellphone that you’d have thought I was on a remote desert island, not traveling from Washington to New York City. When I got back to Union Station, the escalator in the parking garage was broken. Maybe you’ve gotten used to all this and have stopped noticing. I haven’t.’”
The article goes on to point out other obvious facts about modern America, namely that the nation is “seventh in [the world in] literacy, 27th in math, 22nd in science, 49th in life expectancy, 178th in infant mortality, third in median household income, number four in labor force and number four in exports.”
America, the article continues, leads the “world in only three categories: Number of incarcerated citizens per capita, number of adults who believe angels are real, and defense spending, where we spend more than the next 26 countries combined.”
The United States is no longer among the world’s top 10 countries when it comes to the state of its infrastructure. In fact, it spends less than Europe to maintain its roads and bridges, tunnels, train stations and airports.
According to the US Federal Highway Administration, one in four of the more than 600,000 bridges in the world’s richest country are either “inadequate” or outdated. According to some studies, the United States would have to invest some $225 billion a year between now and 2050 to regain an adequate, modern infrastructure. That’s 60 per cent more than it invests today.
In other words, America, the article concludes, is sick and dying. But, of course, the liberal scribblers never get round to saying why.
It is left to some Third World immigrant, a writer for Time magazine to explain—and of course, the explanation is exactly opposite of the truth. The Time writer, named Fareed Zakaria (who Der Spiegel blithely describes as “another American critic of his own country”) is quoted as saying that “What we see today is an American economy that has boomed because of policies and developments of the 1950s and ’60s: the interstate-highway system, massive funding for science and technology, a public-education system that was the envy of the world and generous immigration policies.”
Ah, did you spot it? “Generous immigration policies.” Imagine saying such a thing? The very cancer that has destroyed the heart and soul of America—mass Third World immigration—is named by the “American” Fareed Zakaria as one of the good things which built that nation.
That’s pretty much like saying that an increase in kleptomaniacs is good for the retail business.
The reality—which Der Spiegel and all the other “media pundits” ignore—behind the decline of America is purely racial in origin.
The 2010 US Census reported that the total population of America was 310,233,000.
Of this number, the census said, 246,630,000 were “white alone,” 39,909,000 were “black alone,” 3,188,000 were “American Indian and Alaska Native alone,” 14,415,000 were “Asian alone,” 592,000 were “Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander alone,” 5,499,000 were “Two or more races,” 49,726,000 were of “Hispanic origin” (although the report cautioned that “Persons of Hispanic origin may be any race”), and that the “Not Hispanic, White alone” category numbered 200,853,000 (Table 11. “Resident Population Projections by Race, Hispanic-Origin Status, and Age: 2010 and 2015,” US Census Bureau, Statistical Abstract of the United States: 2011).
It is the latter figure which approximates the actual white population of the US, which means that the European-origin element of the American population stood at 64 per cent at the beginning of 2010.
This is a dramatic decline from 1960, where whites made up 88 per cent of the US’s population (158,831,732 out of a total of 179,323,175 people).
This figure masks an even more serious factor for the future of white America, namely that in 2009, the majority of live births there were to nonwhites.
In 2009, non-Hispanic whites made up just under half of all children three years old, which was the youngest age group shown in the Census Bureau’s survey.
Just ten years earlier, more than 60 per cent of children in that age group were white. According to the 2010 data, non-white babies under the age of two outnumbered white babies for the first time.
The data showed that in 2009, twelve states and the District of Columbia had white populations below 50 per cent among children under age five: Hawaii, California, New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Florida, Maryland, Georgia, New Jersey, New York, and Mississippi. Just ten years earlier, “only” six states and the District of Columbia had non-white majorities.
The massive increase is almost exclusively due to immigration, mainly from Mexico, Central and South America, and other Third World nations. An August 2008 report from the US Census Bureau (USCB) projected that by 2042, whites in America would be an absolute minority.
However, population projections made by the USCB in 2008 predicted that white Americans would be 68 per cent of the population in 2010. This estimate was 4 per cent out, and when it is considered that non-whites became the majority of live births in 2009, it is likely that even the 2042 cut-off date is optimistic.
This explains the social deterioration of America, not the namby-pamby “social stress nonsense spouted by the lunatics in the media.
The reality is that America is becoming like the Third World because its Third World population is increasing by leaps and bounds. As such, it will increasingly physically look like the Third World, in infrastructure and social conditions.
Added to this mix is the very powerful Jewish lobby, which directs the course of American politics and makes sure that that nation meddles militarily in the Middle East and anywhere else that Israel’s interests are threatened.
Thus, as Der Spiegel points out, the US Defence budget is massive and way out of proportion to that required to defend America itself.
This noxious combination of a growing Third World population and alien control of the central arms of government, when added into the mix of globalisation and the export of most manufacturing industries to China, spells the doom not just of America, but of Britain and Europe as well.
It is a deadly spell which must be broken at all costs. Left untouched, it will literally kill off Europe and its people.

- Edit
Well to be a liberal you have to have self delusion on a grand scale & an ability to not see reality or common sense, probably adding 2+2 & getting 5 would be good too.
Parts of the US are already 3rd world with states regularly bankrupt & the US as a whole probably can’t repay its debts & lives on borrowed money.
Mind you we’re not a whole lot better.
I remember several years ago a sudden bridge collapse in the US which turned out to be a lack of maintenance.
Just not spending money on infrastructure.
I think we’re witnessing the end of an empire & it’s amazing how many Americans still believe the crap about their country being the best in the world & invincible etc.
Some have woken up though.
Getting rid of the parasitic zionist lobby would be a good start.
