Mischief in the Shires?

By Max Musson:

My interest was sparked this week when I opened a copy of my local free newspaper, the Northants Herald & Post to find an almost full-page article with a headline declaring “Refugees Welcome”, the suggestion being that the current wave of economic migrants invading Europe are welcomed by the majority of the citizens of Northampton.

In fact the story underlying this article is of a married couple, James and Tracy Green, who stated their willingness to accept, not just one, but three Syrian children into their home, all of which sounds very laudable until one looks a little deeper.

The Greens apparently have seven children of their own already and the picture accompanying this article shows Mr Green, who is sixty-two years of age, sitting on his mobility scooter.

Obviously, social services are unlikely to place three orphaned Syrian children in the home of a disabled man who already has seven children of his own to look after and who is possibly living on benefits. That is, if three orphaned Syrian children could be found among the seething throng or migrants entering Europe.

The reality therefore is that however willing they are, Mr and Mrs Green are unlikely to be asked to take in refugees, and so their offer is a meaningless gesture that the newspaper has evidently latched onto in an effort to manufacture pro-immigration propaganda.

Inside the Herald & Post, I then came across the Editor’s Letter, a small editorial piece by the editor Steve Scoles, which is full of emotional nonsense suggesting that the only decent thing would be for us to take in lots of refugees, and which begins with the statement, “It has been nice to see an upsurge in support for the idea of helping refugees”, as if to suggest once again that the majority response from the people of Northamptonshire has been one of welcoming the migrants. Nothing however could be further from the truth.

On page nine of this September 10th issue of the Herald & Post is an article in which a local councillor complains that having declared his sympathy for the plight of the migrants, he was inundated with messages of criticism from his constituents. Councillor Gareth Eales (Labour) complained, “I was quite shocked by the level of vicious and personal hatred that was aimed in my direction, for expressing my humanitarian view”.

The article ends by informing readers that Councillor Eales’ full statement can be read at www.northampton–news-hp.co.uk.

On this Herald and Post website however, the first article I found dealing with this issue was one which tells the story of another Labour Councillor urging that we should take in and provide homes for migrants, and which contains a link to a further article with the headline, “Northampton says ‘No’ to welcoming Syrian refugees into town – results of our yes/no poll”. This subsequent article reveals that in their own survey of their readers views, the Herald & Post found that in response to the question, ‘Should Northampton rehome Syrian refugees?’, 75% voted ‘No’ and only 20% voted ‘Yes’.

Further inside the same issue of the newspaper, on page 12, under the heading ‘Your Voice’, there is an article featuring ex-Labour MP for Northampton-South, Tony Clarke, who is now a spokesperson for the Green Party, calling for the EU to give further aid to the migrants, but under ‘Your Views’ in which three readers’ letters are printed, we find that two out of the three letters are written by people claiming that we should find housing for our own people before we start offering to house migrants. There is only one letter that urges us to give provide housing for the migrants, which is written by someone who withheld their name and address.

The Northants Herald & Post is ultimately owned by Local World Newspapers, a massive company with over one-hundred local newspapers and seventy local newspaper website under ownership. A cursory look at a representative sample of the sister websites does not appear to show a similar tendency to promote the acceptance of migrants in other areas, and so it would appear that the decision to give a distorted view of public opinion in Northamptonshire was possibly made by Steve Scoles, the editor of the Northants Herald & Post. Perhaps Steve will let us know whether the decision was his or whether he was acting on instructions from above, and if the decision was his, perhaps he will explain why he chose to present a distorted view of his readers’ views.

Interestingly, the Chief Executive Officer and controlling owner of Local World is an Ulsterman, David Montgomery, who is married to the Hon. Sophie Montgomery, the daughter of the 3rd Baron Birdwood and step-granddaughter of the late Dowager Lady Jane Birdwood of National Front fame. If there is a corporate policy of promoting the acceptance of migrants, I doubt that the Dowager would have approved.

  1. The thrall Steve Scoles obviously knows very little about Northamptonshire folk network and the county history.
I look forward to the day when he shares the same fate as Mary Queen of Scots at Fotheringhay, which with any luck won’t be too long a wait now.
Next time just put the rag on the floor for the your dog to be sick on. My mother’s dogs have been using it for years.

  2. I would suggest that you find a short but excellent piece on cuckoos together with source reference and send it to every nitwit you encounter. it may take a little while but if you plant the seeds then sometimes it filters through and they wake up one day and have a revelation–even though it may take a while–that is unless the nitwits have personal encounters that may speed up the process.

  3. The UK Polling website had an interesting piece yesterday about the public reaction to the Syrian business. It showed that those who expressed an opinion split (very roughly) 60/40 against accepting any more refugees than we already do, and almost half of that 60% are against accepting any at all. Those in favour of increasing the number that we take has increased from 29% in May to around 40% now – probably a reaction to the emotional outpouring over the drowning of those little boys, still very much a minority and likely to subside again as emotions subside.

    1. I understand you are bringing the poll up to add to the discussion but as a general point should we put much trust into the establishment polls.

Is the 60% against/40% for really just just 75% against/25% for?

Are the poll participants elderly suburban Whites who spend their days absorbing liberal propaganda or Northern England working class Whites? How many of these responders are actually of non-European descent as well? Then there is the matter of what the questions actually are, their wording and what the preceding questions are e.g. if the 60% percentage figure came from question 3):
      1) Do you think racism is a bad thing?
      2) Do you feel sorry
      3) Do you support Britain taking refugees fleeing ISIS?

One week it will be 60% against, one week it will be 70% against then it will be 50% against. Up and down to give expectations then break them. People get frustrated that one week it was 70% and now it is 50% so they look to blame it on someone else (hence the phenomenom of conservatives attacking those more on the right). All this when the numbers have questionable accuracy.

  4. Perhaps the invaders can live in Scoles Potemkin village . I hear there are quite a few of them or maybe its just a single , enormous one .

  5. Well this is one example of how the propaganda machine has been wound up to get the public to accept a hoard of refugees. Others have gone into overdrive using the drowned kid to make people feel guilty.
    .
On the other hand the behaviour of some of the refugees is downplayed.
Videos of them running amok or indulging in extreme anti social behaviour.

    1. It is a shame that the BBC twist the facts to show these animals in a good light by editing news videos to in some cases show the exact opposite of what happened its only when you see the unedited videos and the videos showing White European women being dragged from cars and beaten up because they were driving omen being racially and physically abused for not wearing Islamic clothes, the BBC should be forced to show the truth.

  6. Just a consistent, mind-numbing drumbeat from the Press, whether national OR local, so I’d wager it’s “instructions from above” as you put it.
    .
The London Evening Standard is a fine exemplar of the self-loathing loonery promoted in these diseased organs. But readers have started to rebel because (1) the comments (where still available) are increasingly hostile to the brain pollution being promoted and (2) the Standard seems to have started limiting its online presence, now requiring a login. Here’s an example from the street edition explaining why this may be so:

    .
It’s surprising the “Herald & Post” isn’t a Johnston Press title as it seems to own pretty much all the local rags the length and breadth of the country. btw some good news here from them:

    https://www.theguardian.com/media/2015/jul/14/johnston-press-profit-warning-advertisers-cut-spending

    (sorry about that grauniad link).

  7. The content of a ‘local’ paper in the UK:

    30% advertisements
30% advertisements masquerading as articles (1)
35% news articles where the people in question have provided the story, with the journalists filling in the dots (2)
    5% organic journalistic content

If these people want to house a ‘refugee’ (or anybody suitably tanned) I would enquire why they don’t pop down to one of Her Majesty’s correction institutions in a neighbouring city on release day and invite a recently released diverse inmate to stay with them. They should not discriminate or let stereotypes stop them.

If they cannot overcome their own ignorance then if they are to house a child perhaps they could take one like this:
    https://www.redicecreations.com/article.php?id=34191

    (1) E.g. Private boarding school received a ‘Outstanding’ result from Ofsted
    (2) Charity activities, initiatives by local politicians, residents’ issues

  8. One thing that has impressed me about the phony ‘migrant crisis’ is that the great British public are largely immune to the propaganda in the print media and television supporting throwing open the door to these ‘refugees’. They have been subjected to constant propaganda about ‘desperate migrants’ in the Observer group newspapers with more restrained propaganda coming from the Times, while the other conservative newspapers have refrained from opposing the ‘refugee’ invasion not wanting to seem like heartless bastards. The public are largely indifferent to pictures of mothers clutching infants, and frantic migrants clawing at fences while border guards look on. Chanel 5 news tried pulling out all the stops by showing portraits of young Africans who died when their boat sank along with film of their sunken boat with bodies on the deck, but to no avail – there are still 74% in the opinion polls who oppose resettling Syrians from refugee camps in Britain. To my surprise I discovered that amongst Guardian readers, who might be expected to be bleeding heart liberals, there is a small majority opposed to resettling Syrians from refugee camps in Britain. I made this discovery when a placed my vote in an online poll in the Guardian’s comment section. As I did so I saw a message informing me that 55% of those participating in the poll had voted like me.
    .
I attribute this failure to influence public opinion using the print media and television as being caused by the provision of alternative news and analysis in the internet, with public opinion on immigration being increasingly influenced by sites like VDARE, American Renaissance, Occidental Observer and of course Western Spring.

    1. We may well be seeing the decline & fall of Western civilisation, what makes it galling is the active participation of our Lords & masters in this, it is not unwitting.
We clearly see this will be the result & how some of the stupid liberals think this is an improvement is beyond me.

    2. “while the other conservative newspapers have refrained from opposing the ‘refugee’ invasion not wanting to seem like heartless bastards.”

You put too much trust in the ‘right wing’ media. Mainstream media is referred to controlled media for a reason. Let’s not forget that said newspapers are owned by a small number of individuals/parties who could not give a toss about how ‘British’ a future Britain will be.

Beyond the ‘tough’ headlines if you analyse the images used and the lexicon in the articles they are subtly regurgitating left wing arguments and garnering sympathy for them. It is all designed to pull on people’s heart strings and create a dilemma in their consciousness so they are inept to oppose it.

      (1) https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3224256/Smiling-face-fear-Migrant-children-brought-journey-better-life-fleeing-parents-war-torn-homes-Syria-Afghanistan.html
      (2) https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3230670/Housed-notorious-concentration-camp-Refugees-fled-Europe-better-life-living-former-Nazi-barracks-Buchenwald-thousands-slave-labourers-died-subjected-medical-experiments.html

From the images alone in those two articles do you think the Daily Mail is on the side of European survival or just placating right wing tendencies? The ‘right wing’ newspapers are the biggest enemies. We would be better off if they banned any paper to the right of ‘The Independent’ so people don’t get brainwashed by liberal propaganda masquerading as ‘right wing’ thought. That includes personalities like Peter Hitchens and Richard Littlejohn.

  9. Futhermore, we don’t have citizens in Northamptonshire. At least that was the old ways before the Great Invasion!
The county was/is made up of town folk and country folk. Admittedly there are less country folk to be found nowadays as land is built on with accelerating speed.

Many Northamptonshire town and country folk alike are well aware that the unprecedented wave of development is to accommodate invaders.
Only we have become out numbered, as was intended, by our enemy way back in time.
Some of us still remember when the early ethnic cleansing of Londoners and Brummies began and was called over spill.

On a cheerful note, just as the river Nen becomes the river Nene after it leaves Northamptonshire. The invaders will be able call themselves what they like as soon as they have gone from the county and our islands.

  10. Steve Scoles has very Jewish features I see. How many is he taking in? Has Bob Geldoff taken his batch inyet?

    1. I wouldn’t be too quick to make assumptions based upon appearances, but what you infer regarding the apparent hypocrisy of those who continually urge us to accommodate more migrants seems true enough.
