It’s been sometime since the World Cup final in Russia and discussions about the England team in the press and among wider society have now reduced to a slow simmer. It seems fitting that now the smoke has cleared someone can provide an analysis of the England team and the World Cup and its possible implications on English identity, as whether or not football is panem et circenses as some may say, it’s symbolism and increasing use as a propaganda tool by the multicultural left this summer are important facts we all need to understand.
From a personal perspective, my relationship with the England football team for some time has been complete indifference. Being a long suffering ethno nationalist for some time now, the naive England fanaticism of my childhood and something like the joy of Owen netting three past Kahn in that 2001 friendly seems a very distant memory now due to my subsequent realization of the demographic crisis engulfing the country and its obvious effect on the England football team. England’s defeat to Iceland in 2016 was pathetic, but it hit my emotional attention as much as a 1mph wind hits a washing line.
However it’s imperative that we as ethno nationalists after this tournament are the opposite of indifferent, due to the advanced demographic situation in the England squad and because the team are now set to become one of the arch propaganda pieces of modern, multicultural England. The liberal elite know full well they have a disgruntled, patriotic, white working class on their hands which has so far refused to budge, so what better way to bring them to the altar of liberal globalism than to combine the growing multicultural grand narrative with football patriotism?
This tournament has seen a real push of a ‘patriotic liberal’ idea even if it was tactfully implied in previous events. Many large newspapers had opinion pieces praising the England team for displaying a diverse, multiethnic team. The quote below from Steven Bloomfield’s article on the Guardian website goes a long way to showcase this type of position, which he had placed in the context of an existing fight between nationalists and globalists over Brexit.
‘‘For many of us – and not just those who backed remain – the young, multicultural team on the pitch is a far better reflection of England than the Brexit-supporting politicians cheering from the sidelines.’’
– Steve Bloomfield, ‘If this England team represents anyone, it’s the 48%: the remainers’, 03/07/2018.
That quote is from an opinion piece and the press will have its opinions as we all know, but alarmingly this idea has even come straight from the England set up itself. Gareth Southgate the England manager, a figure who apparently now universally commands the respect of the white working class due to the team’s perceived success at the tournament, engaged directly with the liberal multicultural narrative before the World Cup began.
“We’re a team with our diversity and with our youth that represent modern England. In England we have spent a bit of time being a bit lost as to what our modern identity is. I think as a team we represent that modern identity and hopefully people can connect with us.”
– Gareth Southgate, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkSpmtA5IM4.
This propaganda has been put across at the perfect moment, five of the main starting 11 at the tournament were not or not fully ethnically English and any notion that this narrative will not become more influential is false, a quick look at the England youth squads will provide you with a distressing picture of what is to come. The starting 11 of the U-17 England squad at last year’s youth World Cup final were majority non English and these players will soon make up the majority of the senior squad. This ultimately means in 5 or 10 years time the main team will be minority English for the first time in history. The England football team will become one of the important weapons in liberalism’s fight for a placid white working class.
Alongside other multicultural types of patriotism now created around the royal family or the armed forces, this new type of football patriotism will play a big role in writing the new grand ‘history’ of multi ethnic England, which all English people are now supposed to unite around. If the 2018 World Cup saw the first aggressive push of this narrative, I am can only foresee the religious fervour and fanfare liberals will have for it in the years to come as the original English slowly slip into minority status in their own homeland.
Though the ruling and upper middle classes have been more likely to welcome the delusions of a new multi ethnic England, propaganda about Cheddar Man or black Romans in BBC children’s cartoons may prove to be far too anaemic for the white working class to swallow, perhaps the only class left that has an existing patriotism and illiberal mentality to challenge liberalism’s grand designs. However if you take multi ethnic England, wrap it in the flag of Saint George, douse it in patriotic slogans and put it in the national football team you will suddenly have a well intentioned but naive white working class taken in hook, line and sinker.
By taking patriotism and combining it with their narrative, they offer ethno nationalism’s core audience a convenient way out of being stigmatized for having ‘racist’ views. I have personally seen how this ‘liberal patriotism’ easily influences people, most memorably through a conversation at my local pub during the course of the tournament. A certain individual I knew as well intentioned but politically innocent was all too keen to explain to me one night that although he doesn’t like immigration, burqas or how the local community has ‘changed beyond all recognition’ he was proud of the multi ethnic England team, as they sang the anthem, wore the flag, played their hearts out and are therefore as English as you or me.
This new narrative has a dangerous ability to neutralize the potential audiences and followers of real patriotism, which is ethno nationalism. Complaining about why football, or any sport, even matters is a valid point but not a solution to this issue and changing the makeup of the England football team is obviously out of the question. Before it’s too late, nationalists need to fully understand what the liberal elite are promoting through English football and counter it. It’s only a game, but the hearts and minds of many white working class people may be at stake.

This is an important article and is absolutely correct. Many will remember the racist cat-calling and chanting at football matches in the eighties. Even if it was an expression of ethno-patriotism, rather than just unpleasantness for its own sake, it was the wrong way to do it and gave the Left what it had always wanted – a way to influence the White working class through its favourite game. So state funded “charities” such as Kick it Out and Show Racism the Red Card sprang up and have continued to pester the game ever since.
There’s no reason to suppose that the England football teams are not chosen on merit, so the Black preponderance would have happened anyway, irrespective of political correctness, because of the natural athleticism of Black people (so much for us all being the same under the skin!).
All that matters now is the effect that the Black preponderance will have on perceptions of what it means to be English. This is particularly the case now that Englishness is viewed by the metropolitan elite with suspicion, so that it is only through sport that Englishness can be expressed without reserve. This may not matter too much for anyone over forty, but for football mad youngsters the word “England” now only means a largely Black football team. To maintain – as I have always done and still do – that to be English is to be White because that is what the English have always been, would not be understood.
But all is not lost. The French National football team is largely Black and has won two World Cups, including 2018, yet racial feeling in France remains at least as strong as it is here, and France (unlike Britain) has a large and influential ethno-nationalist political party. In the USA the National Football League continues to lose support because it consists overwhelmingly of Black players to whom White crowds do not easily relate. I would not be surprised if support drained from the England football team when it becomes predominantly Black – it was noticeable that much of the excitement about the team this year revolved around three White players Kane, Trippier and McGuire (and the excellent goalie whose name has temporarily slipped my memory!).
It was also noticeable how quickly enthusiasm drained when it was over and people began to reflect how indifferent England’s performances had actually been – and why can’t Sterling do it in internationals?
Anyway however that may be, we must continue to argue for our view of what it is to English and British because there will always be some who listen, because we can do no other – and because it is RIGHT.!

Frederick you are very correct in your analysis. The metropolitan elite absolutely view Englishness with suspicion because it intuitively isn’t a civic identity and is not soluble in the multiracial project, where as British identity is civic. I recall data from the census and other studies showing that a lot of white working class people will report themselves as English, not British, where as ethnic minorities are very unlikely to report themselves as English, preferring British instead
Englishness provides us with the perfect oppurtunity to promote a palpable ethno patriotism with relative ease and to see Englishness become multiracial would be heartbreaking and devasting for our movement. The white working class will be the overwhelming driver of our movement, and any battle for Englishness will in some ways also be a fight for them.
People need to brainstorm to find ways in which we can seperate the identity from not just the football team, but the royal family and many other institutions. One way we can do this is to promote understanding of elements of our history which are by their nature exclusive and thus far harder to be hijacked.
When the multiracial crowds gather and say ‘Long live the Queen!’, let us say ‘Long live the Peasants’ Revolt!’

Not being a football supporter because of the change to this Multi- Cultural worship by the football fans and those in higher places, most of this goes over myhead. Those at the top know that football has become the opium of the people, it’s just another tool to shape and bend the Malleable public.
It now makes me sick to the stomach watching the fans of whatever team is playing, shouting and making those ghastly expressions that only uncouth yobs with little brains do. These are not nice times and football has lost its once great feeling that it was an English sport.

I understand your frustrations Dan, our people can’t see other ways in which to understand their English identity and the blame must lay with us. No one else is going to solve this problem.

Having seen England win the World Cup in 1966, although only seven at the time and not fully appreciating the enormity of such an achievement, part of me would like to see this success being repeated, although the ethnic composition of the team is now more “diverse”.
The team which beat West Germany on 30th July 1966, was composed entirely of white working class players, and they received only a modest remuneration for their outstanding feat.Most if not all the players only played for one or at most two different clubs in their careers, testifying to the sign of the times, where loyalty was strictly observed.
During this recent tournament, I was pleased that England proceeded to the semifinals and should have reached the finals, having dominated Croatia in the first half, but at no time did I cheer with any passion. In mark contrast I cheered with unconstrained delight when Russia were playing and scoring goals, because I could identify with the players in their entirety.
The flag of St George causes much anxiety and confusion to the Liberal, many condemning it as “racist” and exclusive. Then there are people such as Nigel Farage who defend the flag as being inclusive and therefore non racist. It was during Euro 1996 when the flag of St George came into prominence and English supporters largely abandoned the Union Flag in favour of it.I would agree with the author of this fine article, John Wrawe that football may become part of Panem et circenes, whereby a disproportionate amount of time is spent lost in “entertainment” , giving less time for political analysis. This would prove beneficial to the Establishment.
In the past supporters of certain football clubs have been active in promoting what was described as “far-right” activities, such as Leeds United and Millwall. The NF would regularly sell their magazine outside Leeds Utd Ground, but times have changed. I noticed a rainbow flag flying at Valley Parade, the home of Bradford City, my local football club.I was relieved to learn that none of the supporters I spoke to were aware of its significance.
As England’s national team will become increasingly “diverse”, I will probably become increasingly indifferent to its success or otherwise.It remains to be seen whether the white working class will fall victim to the multicultural spell through football, or see the dangers and abandon the game in droves.
For Frederick’s information England’s goalkeeper during the recent world cup was Jordan Pickford who had played a full season at Bradford city on loan.
John Wrawe

Alec you are right to point out that Nigel Farage has tried to make Englishness inclusive, just like the English Democrats. However kinds of efforts have always been on the fringes and have never been taken seriously.
It remains to be seen how much of an effect this narrative around the England football team will have, but all in all Englishness has been left untouched… for now!
This can’t be said for British identity however. The Sun newspaper four years ago had a front page with an asian women proudly wearing a union flag hijab! Go figure!

You are correct John to argue that the White working class would almost invariably describe themselves as English rather than British, because English is seen as an ethnic identity while the non-white population would describe themselves as British as they would consider this to be more inclusive while being English is considered exclusive.
In reality British refers to those who are subjects of the crown based on possession of a passport, namely the United Kingdom of Britain and Northern Ireland.Being a British Subject is not dependent on a particular ethnicity However The ethnic English may be considered to be Britons as they have resided in Britain for approximately 1500 years; the Welsh and Scottish are also Britons who have occupied Briton for an even longer period. The term Briton would not apply to the non European populations of the UK.
Many aspects of being English are identified in folk culture such as morris dancing which is not practised by the Celtic people.If the Flag of St George was to be claimed by the multiculturalists, the White Dragon of England would be its appropriate replacement.
It is important to fully develop the exclusive qualities of being English to emphasise our belonging to these islands and to complement the distinct identities of the Welsh, Scottish, and Irish who all hail from the British Isles. The absurd civic nationalism of the SNP and Plaid Cymru is risible and exceeds all bounds of absurdity.

“The term Briton would not apply to the non European populations of the UK.”
That’s the way I think, too. But the media are now referring to people with British citizenship as “Britons”. This is the label used almost exclusively to describe young Muslims of non-British extraction who are reported as involved in ISIS and al-Qaeda terrorist activities – including activities targeting British people in Britain.

Thank you Alec! Yes, Jordan Pickford of course. By the way, you can probably guess which team I supported in the Final – not that I’m racist or anything….

I would like to relate an anecdote of recent experience that while digressing from the main theme of the article has resonance with it.
I was listening to but not particpating in a quiz that was going on around me. As amazingly the questions were not all about popular culture it piqued my interest.
Question: Who was the most successful American fighter of WW2?
Now I know a little bit about fighter pilots of WW2 having read German fighter ace Eric Hartmann’s biography years back as well as the war histories of one or two other pilots. Hartmann is credited in having scored the most ‘kills.’ I thought I knew the answer but it was a tough one so was surprised when a young man (mid twenties) piped up and said he thought he knew.
Answer : It was one of the black pilots from the Tuskegee squadron he said.
Now of all the answers possible that was the one I least expected. I had heard of the Tuskegee pilots, they were a political construct of FDR’ wife. If you want to know about their actual merits the official US Airforce historian Robert H Powell has something to say. What I didn’t know at the time was that his answer was based on a Hollywood ‘historical’ film epic called ‘Red Tails.’ I have never seen the film and don’t intend to. Another ‘Schindler’s List’ style ‘historical’ film epic most probably.
Afterwards I felt quite depressed by that answer. It just shows how easily vulnerable young minds can be brainwashed and manipulated by disinformation and fabrication, particualrly if that individual lacks critical reasoning. His answer sounded even more inappropriate when I happened upon Dr Charles Murray’s recent book ‘ Human Accomplishments’ in which he attempts to identitfy the most prominent innovators over the last three thousand years. While controversial as to who he has left out, Archimedes for instance, it includes no-one from sub Saharan Africa yet in the Western world black hero worship seems to hold no bounds.

It is even more depressing when one realises that the top ten US WW2 aces, with ‘kills’ totalling 40 down to 25, were all white. As with Black ‘History’ Month, all such dishonest claims are easily debunked, but the damage is done with the first lie.
John Helm
- Edit
According to my copy of the Guinness History of Air Warfare (published 1976, p.196), the top US air ace was Richard Ira Bong, credited with 40 ‘kills’ (aircraft destroyed in combat).
Wikipedia confirms he was top US WW2 fighter ace. He was of mixed Swedish/Anglo-Scottish ancestry. He doesn’t look very Black to me. See for yourself:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Bong
Guinness also lists the top WW2 fighters by nationality. These were the top 8 (according to number of ‘kills’):
(1) Major Erich Hartmann, Germany, 352;
(2) Major Walter Nowotny, Austria, 258;
(3) Lmsti Eino Juutilainen, Finland, 94;
(4) Warrant Officer Hiroyoshi Nishizawa, Japan, 87;
(5) Colonel Ivan N Kozhedub, USSR, 62;
(6) Captain Prince Constantine Cantacuzene, Romania, 60;
(7) Squadron Leader M T St J Pattle, South Africa, 51 (approx.); &
(8) Major Richard I Bong, USA, 40.
The UK ranked 9th with Group Captain J E Johnson taking 38 ‘kills’.
Hope this clarifies things. The list was compiled in the pre-PC era.
Wolf of the Sun
- Edit
Unfortunately, John H, the PC version now prevails. The top two WW2 fighter aces were Squadron Leader Winston “Winnie” Mhlanghla of the ‘Spear of Africa’ Hurricane squadron with 3,627 confirmed kills, second only to Group Captain Binjamin “Benny” Goldfarb of the 6 Millionth Spitfire squadron, with 14,207 kills, including 642 in one day when he flew sorties over both the Ruhr and northern France in different aircraft at the same time. He also evacuated hundreds of British troops from Dunkirk by flying low and scooping them up on his wings. Stirring stuff. I look forward to the Spielberg documentary.

In the UK, one of the most notable examples of black hero worship is the cult of Mary Seacole. It amazes me how schools and other establishments now place her on equal par with Florence Nightingale, it is one of the best examples of political correctness re writing history here in the UK. All school children now learn about her as she has been made a key part of the curriculum.
I assume you are in the US LJP… if you have not heard of Mary Seacole I recommend reading the article below to see just how false the ‘black Florence Nightingale’ story is, it’s an interesting read.

Interesting post John W. The otherwise fairly useful children’s TV series, “Horrible Histories”, portrayed Florence Nightingale as having been racially discriminatory against Seacole and was forced to issue a retraction for the falsehood. Typical of the neo-Marxist-infested BBC to push that myth to its extreme and foist it upon young, impressionable minds.

As long as the present-day media has almost complete control of everything that is served out to the public, the lie will always be paramount.
Dr Joseph Goebbels is reviled by these people yet they have adopted and even surpassed his wildest endeavours. The advertisement agencies rule the airwaves with their brain-washing material, our people only have their yardstick to go by.

In fact Dr Goebbels never actually advocated the ‘Big Lie’ he simply stated that it was a favourite tactic of Jewish press barons.

Yes Max, they spit venom when mentioning his name; but he had the foresight to beat them at their own game. To the Victor’s go the spoils of War and history is re-written in their own image, as we see everyday on TV.

It seems to have become a point of academic interest as to the identity of the top American fighter ace of WW2. I confess I thought it was Eddie Rickenbacker but was wrong as he was ‘American Top Gun’ WW1. I can’t actually remember the answer as I had fallen off the chair at the mention of a black aviator.
I must also state that the young man mentioned in that anecdote is known to me and I know that he has an interest in the history of WW2 and has a good knowledge of the panzers and tanks used in the conflict. In that context I thought it particularly disappointing that he considered his answer as conceivable.
It is sad fact that even after proven Establishment and media lies, the introduction of the Internet, and the more recent introduction of President Trump, a great many people are still unable to see past obvious propaganda and accept fabrication, disinformation, distortions, irregularities, and downright lies as fact. Then again perhaps I was just born a cynic.
I note there was a sizable demonstration in Chemnitz over the weekend with protestors shouting ‘Lugenpresse.’ Of course that was widely covered in the mainstream media west of the old East German border, not.

I’ve seen a picture of the French football team from 1958, all the players were French. A picture of the French football team from 2008 was all Africans.
