Following on from Max Musson’s and Frederick Dixon’s recent articles I was also moved to reflect upon the present situation with the EDL and the direction it has thus far followed.
What stuck out for me in Max’s article was the assertion that the EDL was “run by two people whose glaring political naivety was probably only exceeded by their deficiency in critical thinking.” It is from this perspective that I reflect.
This political naivety and deficiency in critical thinking was of course exemplified in the perception that by currying favour with the dark hand behind the scenes (Zionism) they, the EDL, would be treated with kid gloves. Wrong.
Both Robinson and Carroll were afforded a semi-platform by the media. Robinson wore his “Friends of Israel” badge, one or two Israeli flags were lamentably seen at EDL events, and Carroll even went as far as wheeling out his mixed-race children in a self-aggrandising, “Look, I’m not ‘racist’”, ingratiation with the powers that (should not) be. Furthermore, the evident fact that there are non-Whites in the EDL, that they have a Jewish division, a homosexual division , and Robinson has claimed that “some of his best friends are Muslims” has nevertheless failed to offset any resistance to them.
The EDL was/is to many an irksome street movement that by its presence bitch-slapped the slumbering Liberal/Left bourgeoisie with a long-overdue hand of reality –and it was also a possible vehicle for a direct threat against the status quo of the Establishment. And so, what of the other forces –the witting or unwitting adjuncts of the Establishment– who either saw through this perceived pretence, baulked at the cosying up to Zionism, or simply carried out their orders, or else modus operandi?
Enter stage left the, ahem, “Left”. Here we see – not through facts and figures, reason and rationale, or the cognizance of the EDL’s wretched divisions mentioned above– the primal emotion and knee-jerk reaction by those, our detractors, who lazily decry the “Far-Right” response to the reign of terror enacted upon all by the puppet masters behind this puppet show. Not to the Reds does it make one iota of difference that Blacks are present on the EDL’s activities. It matters not a jot that they have Jews and homosexuals in their ranks. To them the main concern is the EDL’s default position of dissent both against their Marxist ideology and the Establishment’s status quo that is, through its Totalitarian Humanism, increasingly warming to it. Here we see the confluence between the System and those, the Reds, who claim to stand against it while in reality and with fecund glee rejoice at the fact that Cultural Marxism has found a position in bed with rapacious capitalism –a much-needed additional rung on their ideological ladder.
This (the Reds trying to curry favour with their handlers) is an important factor that must be acknowledged in any re-organisation and resurgence of the EDL. It is simply fallacy bordering on frivolous naivety to treat the Reds, their State backers and its Zionist handlers as nothing more than the direct and most fundamental enemy.
I have always questioned the direction of both the ‘Islamists’ and the EDL. I always sighed in disbelief as they concentrated their efforts against each other rather than the mutual enemy. It is widely suspected that Anjem Choudary is an MI5 operative, and whether this is true or not, the recent resignation of the EDL leadership must also call into question their real identities and motives.
The size of the EDL could have achieved much more if they concentrated their efforts on the cause (“government” and its foreign and domestic policies) rather than the symptom (‘Islamism’ as a result of these). In the chat rooms and message boards I thankfully saw considerable discussion and suggestions of what else the EDL could be doing. Sit-ins at airports to raise attention to the inflow of Muslim immigrants; flash demonstrations to countervail police presence and therefore oppression; campaigns against, and demonstrations outside of, the press and media buildings; and ultimately demonstrations outside of the homes of politicians who are, of course, the main source of this nations ills). Sadly, none of these initiatives were ever undertaken –and so the EDL continued with its slanging matches with the Reds and the Muslims to no immediate effect other than to raise awareness of their cause.
Likewise with the Muslims, notice how the considerable Islamic street presence is never mobilised against those (Zionists) wreaking terror on their brothers in Palestine by, say as an initial example, occupying Golders Green, London, or Prestwich, Manchester (areas with large concentrations of Jewish residents). Of course, while it should be pointed out that not all Jews are Zionists, is it nevertheless not appropriate in the context of street action, to direct outrage and pressure on those who are closest to, and thereby most influential of, the source of one’s discontent (the Zionists)?
But no, out in town and city centres they remained –away from politicians and those who could favourably influence them.
Is there a hidden hand at work? What is the “displaying the Star of David together with the Cross of St. George” but a suggestion of a neo-Crusade, a formulation of the PNAC/AIPAC-friendly ‘Clash of Civilizations’ espoused by the rabid Zionist Samuel P. Huntington?
Here again the political naivety and deficiency in critical thinking of the EDL leadership is apparent in its lack of understanding of geo-politics. Zionism, Israel, the Military Industrial Complex, and Western politicians’ political adventures in the Middle East all benefit from this unfortunate direction that the leadership of the EDL has hitherto followed. Furthermore, after the slaying of Lee Rigby the knee jerk reaction by the EDL leadership was, understandably at least, to call out the troops to show outrage against the ‘Islamists’ while ignoring the fact that the attacker was Black and he had raised some interesting, and what some would regard as morally justifiable, points in the subsequent statement he made recorded on a camera phone and put on Youtube.
Let us remind ourselves of some of these points:
“The only reason we have killed this man today, is because Muslims are dying daily by British soldiers and this British soldier is one, he is an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.
“By Allah we swear by almighty Allah that we will never stop fighting you until you leave us alone.
“So what if we want to live by the Shariah in Muslim lands, why does that mean that you must follow us and chase us and call us extremists and kill us? Rather you lot are extreme, you are the ones, when you drop a bomb, you think it hits one person? Or rather your bomb wipes out a whole family. This is the reality.
“By Allah, if I saw your mother today with a buggy, I would help her up the stairs, this is my nature, but we are forced by the Koran and Sura At-Tawba, and many many ayah throughout the Koran that we must fight them as they fight us, an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.
“I apologise that women had to witness this today, but in our land our women have to see the same.
“You people will never be safe. Remove your governments, they don’t care about you.
“Do you think David Cameron is going to get caught in the street when we start busting out guns, do you think politicians are going to die? No, it’s going to be the average guy like you and your children.
“So get rid of them, tell them to bring our troops back, so we can, so you can all live in peace. Leave our lands and you can live in peace, that’s all I have to say. Allah’s peace and blessings be upon you, As-Salāmu Alaykum.”
Of course, this sickening outrage cannot be excused but –as uncomfortable as this will be to some– my highlighted points are, I feel, valid perspectives.
When I firstly saw the video, the most apparent cause and concern of the attacker was Zionist foreign policy, Western imperialism, and the moral justification of avenging what had been done, is being done, and will be done in the future to his people. Yet these points, and the fact the attacker was an immigrant from Somalia, were subsequently ignored by the EDL leadership. There was no outcry regarding immigration. There was no mention that Blacks (while the majority being Christian) in this country far outnumber Muslims from the sub-continent. There was no reassessment of the EDL position in light of the points raised by the attacker – points that have a direct correlation to Israel, Zionism and those whose strings they pull. There was not, ultimately, a vociferous attack on the System –concentrating instead solely on Islam.
And so, in conclusion, it is clear that the new leadership of the EDL need a clearer direction, a greater understanding of the issues concomitant with ‘Islamisation’, and ultimately an identification of those behind the stage: the motives, desires, aims, and benefits of the dark forces (both political, ideological, and financial) here at home and throughout the world.
Islam has no place in the West, just as we have no place in their lands. As unconscionable as a significant number of its followers are and as sickening as are their actions, we nevertheless less must ask:
Is Islam being utilised as a diversionary tactic? Is the West being played off against them while those orchestrating are ignored and left to continue with their actions? Is it a simple case of the puppet master saying, “Don’t watch that hand, watch this one”?
The following questions must be asked and answered in the minds of those possibly forming a new leadership of the EDL:
Who has let in these people?
Who wants to keep them here?
Who benefits from their presence? … and
Who benefits from the conflict?

Yes exactly & if the EDL don’t take a new approach hopefully they’ll fade away, which is what I hope happens to “Tommy Robinson” & his friends for all the use they are.
He apparently has been attacked again by people for religious reasons which I assume is code for extremist moslems attacking him.
Which seems a bit convenient & designed to gain him sympathy & support or more proof his stance was always nonsense?
To any thinking person the politics of the EDL never made much sense & the football hooligan element puts others off.

Articles like this are very important as they would not be seen elsewhere; and we need to make people aware of what is happening. Please keep writing the articles R. Lee, although I would prefer it if your articles were a little more direct and less verbose in style.

Verbose, using or expressed more words than are needed…eh.

Robinson has always been under the impression you can be a multiculturalist and a Muslim hater at the same time. You cant, he’s a bit too stupid to understand that. As the article points out, if the EDL had been created to attack the Government and its foreign/domestic policy with the right leadership it would have been far more successful.

In my mind you are totally correct in what you say

It is certainly a topic that is causing a lot of us to tap out some articles – including myself, who has broken a seven month silence on my blog site to convey my views over the matter.
.
(See https://independent-british-nationalist.blogspot.co.uk/). It is quite long, but it is there for anybody who wants to use it or read it.
.
I have not covered this following aspect, but there does seem to be a whole raft of positions on this news at the moment, ranging from it being staged, to being a plot from the start, to Tommy being ‘got at’, him being a ‘turncoat’, even that in prison he has ‘converted to Islam’ or something(!).
.
There is also some uncertainty going around as to whether the Quilliam Foundation is a ‘Zionist’ front (for its alleged neo-conservative support of American meddling in middle eastern affairs and generally ‘tackling Islam’), or it being some kind of Islamic trojan horse playing a very long political game more akin to the organisation many of their founding members had left. Had they too “seen the light” and begun working to achieve their aims in a different way?
.
The ‘left wingers’ seem to be confused as to what this all means with Tommy Robinson too. Has he had an ‘about face’? Is it really some kind of ‘seeing the light’ and “rejecting extremist beliefs”? Or, as some of them are saying, it is the same old “hate” but under a new umbrella. They don’t really know at the moment.
.
I do not really know what all the answers are either, but I do share the understanding as to why the EDL were not a nationalist organisation and I share the notions in this article that their strategy and focus was not all that helpful for securing any solid gains.
.
I could elaborate, but it is all there on the blog article, so I would only be repeating myself here in the comments of somebody else’s.
.
What happens with it all now I don’t know, either. I cannot see the ‘counter-jihad’ side of things completely dwindling away, even though Tommy has departed from the EDL.

I liked this article and I’d like to thank Western Spring for publishing it. As a commenter has pointed out above, this would perhaps not be seen elsewhere. Not sure why that commenter thinks so, but from my perspective it is because the author raises some interesting and uncomfortable points that many websites out there would rather ignore.
This is the first slight appraisal of what the attacker said that I have so far seen. And doesn’t the transcript make for uncomfortable reading? You certainly wouldn’t have seen that transcript in the morning papers. The system doesn’t want those views being aired because they are the truth and will upset the liberals and have them spitting muesli across the breakfast table.
But this is what is needed. A short sharp shock to force their face into the real world and the monstrosity they keep voting for. Very easy to read about the bombing of women and children and then turn the page of the newspaper to discover X-Factor finalists. But when the consequences of this country’s actions are brought to the street outside, then that is a different kettle of fish altogether.
It is very easy to dismiss the actions of this attacker as simply the violent excess of a savage. But in a deeper analysis we will find that this was a cool and calculated planned attack for the purpose of revenge. The attacker was worryingly measured after the attack and his statement was clearly not the ramblings of a mad man.
This incident should have forced a reappraisal of the EDL’s position and a rethink in the nationalist cause. But I fear it did not. The author did well to highlight this issue.
Again I congratulate Western Spring for publishing this refreshing perspective.

I often wonder the same thing: why don’t these “radicalised” Muslims ever take their stresses out over in Golders Green? The reason why they probably don’t is because they know that if they were to do anything over there, and get caught, they’d be punished properly. Not just get a slap on the wrist like they do when they leave whites half dead.
