Western Spring in conjuction with Mike Woodbridge, the executor of Jonathan Bowden’s estate are pleased to announce the fourth occasion of an award in Jonathan’s memory of a prize for oratory, and as announced last year, the cash component of the prize starting this year, has been increased to £500.
Members of the nationalist community and our wider audience are hereby invited to submit to this website, the name of any nationalist speakers that you feel deserve to be added to our list of nominees for this award. For the nomination to be acceptable to our panel of judges the speech must have been made during the twelve months ending on 1st March 2017, and be accessible on the internet either as a video or sound recording. Therefore please also provide a link to the speech in question. The speakers nominated can be a member of any political group or party or none.
The prize awarded for the best piece of nationalist oratory will be the laurel wreath statue that stood on Jonathan Bowden’s desk at his home, which will be inscribed with the winner’s name and which the winner will be allowed to retain until 1st March 2018, together with the aforementioned cash sum provided by Western Spring, which of course will be for the winner to keep.
The prize will be presented to the winner at the first London Forum meeting to take place following the closing date for the competition.
The acceptance of nominations is at the discretion of the Western Spring panel of judges, as is the decision regarding the choice of winner although our readers should feel free to add their comments to articles we will publish during the month ahead to publicise the nominees.
The winner last year was the promising young nationalist activist, Alex Davies. Alex was one of the founder members of an organisation which the Home Secretary Amber Rudd has since proscribed. What makes Alex’s speeches special is that they are delivered without notes and with no loss of momentum in a manner reminiscent of the late Jonathan Bowden whose ability in this respect was legendary. For such a young speaker to demonstrate such confidence, mental focus and fluency is quite remarkable. Alex speaks with passion, making good use of humour, irony and emphasis, and with an evident sense of both mission and history, calling for a total and uncompromising commitment to a National Socialist remedy for our nation’s ills.
The previous winners of this prize have been Richard Edmonds in 2015 and Alex Kurtagic in 2014.
We are aware that some individuals have in the past been disappointed not to be considered for this prize based upon speeches they had made in private, recordings of which were not made public. Therefore in order to avoid similar disappointment this year, speakers are urged to post video recordings where they are accessible. The speakers nominated may appear under a nom do guerre if they wish.
Please submit your nominations to me [email protected] and aspiring orators should be aware they have just two weeks in which to qualify for the prize this year. We look forward to your entries.

Nominees may use a nom de guerre?
.
Why? So they can nominate themselves? If so, Nationalism is in a worse state than I thought

Thanks for pointing out the typo. Now corrected.

Ban or not, I think it IS permissable to say that Alex was a member of National Action. Uttering or writing the name is not an offence.

Of course it is permissible to mention the name of National Action, something I did quite extensively during this interview: https://www.westernspring.co.uk/audio-interview-max-musson/.
Sometimes less is more however, and by omitting the name in the above article, I have drawn readers attention to the ban and to the name of the organisation in question, as you have so ably demonstrated. 🙂

I’ve done a few speeches in my time and being very modest I consider myself one of the best orators on this spinning, blue planet. I remember one speech where I made a hardened Marxist cry when I described how my fanatical desire to save the White race had nothing to do with hate only love.
On another speech, on American foreign policy, a career neo-Con burst through the crowd, snatched the microphone off me, and shouted “He’s right… No wars for the New World Order. Smash the banks!!!!”.
I could, of course, go on, but I’m too modest.
If I can find the video evidence I’ll post it up, but I’m a bit busy at the moment.

Jonathan Bowden is the best orator I’ve ever heard, and an unrivaled source of inspiration. Good luck to all those aiming for this prestigious award.
