There can be no more iconic image of romantic derring-do than that of swash-buckling British cavalry soldiers in bright red tunics and all their gold braided finery charging on horse-back, swords drawn, towards the Russian cannons that opposed them during the charge of the Light Brigade. Yet romantic and heroic though the charge of the Light Brigade was, the British cavalry were so depleted in numbers by the withering hail of enemy fire that by the time they reached the enemy guns, they were forced to withdraw immediately, giving up all of their hard won gains.
For centuries beforehand, courageous and highly mobile cavalry regiments were regarded as the elite forces of any army, and yet just sixty-years after the charge of the Light Brigade, cavalry soldiers mounted on horseback had become redundant, rendered an anachronism by the invention of trenches, barbed wire entanglements and the machine gun. Furthermore, as it was for the cavalry soldier, finally outmoded during the second decade of the 20th Century, so it is today for the style of political campaigning that brought us the Russian Revolution, Mussolini’s March on Rome and the rise of National Socialist Germany. Today, in an age of monopoly global mass media, mass digital surveillance and high-speed, fibre-optic communication, the rabble-rousing, devil-may-care demagogue, exciting the masses to action, has become as much an anachronism as the cavalry soldier before him.
In a world of ubiquitous CCTV, facial recognition and number-plate recognition cameras; in a world of totalitarian hate-speech legislation, and an Internet that never forgets, providing an audit trail that is almost impossible to evade, almost everything we say, and almost everything we do, is captured and recorded and noted by an army of political policemen, and if we value our liberty, our financial wellbeing and our reputations, we must employ the political tactics that mimic those of today’s elite military forces rather than the elite forces of yesteryear.
Today’s elite forces have forsaken the bright red tunics and the gold braid of old, for camouflage patterned clothing, and they have forsaken the frontal assault in broad daylight for stealth and silent, unseen attacks under cover of darkness.
If we want to succeed in our efforts to bring about the salvation of our people and secure their freedom from oppression, we must turn away from overt electioneering, from public demonstrations and from all those activities that were so successful in the past that involved attracting attention, because today, success will not come from attracting attention. Our style of politics must involve ‘guerrilla’ tactics in which as much as is possible, everything we do and say, everything we build and everything we create is hidden from our enemies. Our assets and our ventures must remain hidden until we are strong enough to protect them from enemy attack or until with the element of surprise on our side, we are able to use them to great effect before our enemies can react.
Our political enemies are vastly more powerful than we are at present, in terms of numbers, in terms of funding and in terms or propaganda output and media firepower, and so a ‘head-on assault’ against their citadels of power at this time is doomed to failure. We have witnessed such failure many times in past decades.
Electioneering and demonstrating in public are the political equivalent of an army advancing with every vehicle and every man adorned with flashing lights designed to make their positions and their movements as obvious as possible, and as we have advanced in this foolish manner in the past, making as much noise as we can in an attempt to attract as much attention as possible, the Eye of Sauron has swivelled around and our advance has be cut to pieces by a withering hail of smears, lies and denigration from the mass media. Furthermore, the lives of our activists have been disrupted and their often bravely defiant but ill-considered pronouncements have enabled our enemies to criminalise them. We cannot win this way.
The politics of the future must involve very different tactics from the politics of the past, if we are to succeed. We will however still need at least one or two overtly nationalist groups to continue noisily campaigning in the old, heroic but now hopelessly unsuccessful way, to act as a diversion, drawing our enemy’s attention and their fire away from where the real action will be taking place.
Some people will argue that what I am advocating here isn’t gallant or courageous, that it isn’t honest or heroic, or the Aryan way, but they are wrong. It is not admirable, glamorous or heroic to squander one’s life engaging in activities that are doomed to failure and which as a consequence doom our people to extinction. We must adapt and demonstrate that we are the fittest to survive, and like the soldiers who since David Stirling founded the SAS in 1941, have dared to be ruthlessly effective rather than flamboyantly chivalrous, we will win where all others before us have failed.
